Can you use contact saline or salt water drops to clear a stuffy nose?

Yes, saline is a good way to clear out nasal passages. I don't know if contact solution will work though, I've never considered how it is different from typical salt water. Saline water in the nasal passages is essentially the way a neti-pot works. You want to mix luke warm water with a small amount (1 tsp or less) of sea salt to make a saline mixture that is close to your body's own salt concentration. If the water is too salty, or not salty enough, it will burn. Then you can tilt your head to one side (like you were about to lie your head on a pillow), leaning forward slightly over a sink, and pour the saline into the top nostril. It should come out the bottom nostril. If you have a stuffy nose, however, you will need to be more patient. It may not happen the first time you try, and may take a few attempts. Can you use contact saline or salt water drops to clear a stuffy nose?
