Why would a man verbally and nicely express clear interest in a woman. . . then not contact her for a week ?

I've known this man from a group I socialize with for about 4 months now. Last week, after a social event, he walked me to my car at night as it was dark, then he kissed me.

We shared conversation, kissed little bit more . . . he called me the next evening . . . sent me a nice e-mail following day . . . then no contact for following week.

If I have an interest in a man, which I do with this man, I do let him know I'm interested, yet I won't chase any man. I did send him a friendly ' hi ' e-mail earlier today after not hearing from his for whole week. I do have interest to wonder more of what he is about. . . yet, I don't 'chase after' any man.

Why would a man reflect towards me as he did, then no contact for full week ?

Any insight ?Why would a man verbally and nicely express clear interest in a woman. . . then not contact her for a week ?
Many times when a man knows that a relationship is going down the drain... He will find himself liking some one else..Problem is it moves to fast.. In other words he expresses his feelings for that person before he isout of his current situation... It could be that he is getting out of a relationship.. Or worse maybe he is in a relationship with no intentions of getting out.... Or maybe he just got really busy! I know this probably does not help.... I wish you the best of luck in your confusing situation though! Why would a man verbally and nicely express clear interest in a woman. . . then not contact her for a week ?
he is a player.
Maybe it's similar to taking a car you really like for a test drive: It's pretty, drives pretty nice for the short term, but when they bring out the paperwork, maybe he didn't want to be tied to the same model for 5 years.

You claim you send clear signals when you are interested in a man, yet you won't chase him. Maybe he feels the same way, so now you two are at an impass. Sweeten the deal; let him no there are no long-term strings attached, or let it go. Men hate to be cornered...
Seem kinda jr-highish but if you socialize with the same people ask his friends about it without giving too much away . One of the best ways to judge a person is by the company they keep.
