Should I contact her to clear the air?

Over a year ago I helped a girl on her assignments. It was my last year in college. She was a good friend and I really liked her company. She said she 'owed' me or more than one occasion. At that time I was going through a really bad time with my family and I was not able to contact her. After meeting up with after two months I did not want to tell her my personal problems so I said ';I forgot'; to which her response was a resounding ';whatever'; however I don't think there was any ill-feeling.





I did ask her later, she suggested a time but I was unable to answer due to my personal at home situation. It was a extremely turbulent time for me personally and I had to go away. Should I contact her and apologize and smooth things out, she probably thought I am doing the ';forgot'; thing again. We haven't had any contact since then.





Should I contact her to clear things as my personal problems are now gone or should I just let this go and move on. I am a guy btw. Any suggestions will be helpful.Should I contact her to clear the air?
